Energy Professional Training

Power52’s Energy Professional Training program is approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission and is accredited by The National Center for Construction, Education & Research (NCCER). Each cohort is 320 clock-hours of training which includes classroom instruction, Now offering OSHA-30, and hands on real world simulated lab hours. The curriculum covers the basic concepts of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems and their components. It also explains how PV systems are sized, designed, and installed. Power52 Employer Partners have been instrumental in overseeing that our training curriculum is aligned to meet workforce needs and the needs of our employment partners.

    Power52 is funded, in part, by the State of Maryland's EARN Maryland Grant Program, administered by the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation.

    Power52 will provide training for other energy sector skills. This includes energy efficiency, LED lighting, smart building capabilities, power delivery and scheduling, and microgrid and battery storage.

    Our training platform includes extensive case management throughout the program and for twelve months beyond.  This mentorship styled approach coupled with our real world simulated lab training ensures students are equipped and receive the technological and professional advantages needed to be competitive in todays workforce

    Power52’s Power Pathways is structured career pathways programming, developed by the Power52 Foundation, leading to stackable credentials, career advancement, and post-secondary degree attainment. Power Pathways were developed through labor market research, consistent communication and engagement with solar energy employers, and Power52’s partnerships with degree granting institutions.  Ultimately, Power Pathways offer Power52 Energy Institute participants, and past program graduates, structured training options for higher level education that will lead to career advancement in the Solar and Renewable Energy Industry.

    With full consideration of a graduate’s current level of knowledge and acquired expertise after receiving the certificate of completion from the Power52 Energy Institute’s entry level program, Power Pathways are designed to address a Power52 participant’s desire for continuing education opportunities and career progression within the solar and renewable energy industry. Power52 is consistently developing partnerships with post-secondary institutions to develop articulation agreements to offer Power52 graduates diverse stackable credentialing opportunities and opportunities for degree attainment with entities across the United States.
