Ray Lewis and Rob Wallace Join Forces to Bring Clean Energy to Maryland’s Economically Disadvantaged Communities.

POWER52 will provide clean energy programs and local job opportunities for the community by the community!

BALTIMORE (Nov. 30, 2015) —  In an effort to provide low-income residents with access to clean/renewable energy resources, POWER52, a Maryland based 501C3, has been established to provide technical, developmental, and economic resources geared toward the development of clean/renewable energy projects.  Power52 aims to reduce the cost of energy for low-income communities/families by creating access to renewable energy and clean energy programs regardless of their social economic status.

The renewable energy projects created and managed by Power52 will allow the organization to offer jobs for low-income individuals in disadvantaged communities that may be struggling financially.  They will offer training for those interested in pursuing a career in the renewable/energy sector as well as scholarships for economically challenged individuals to attend a trade school or college.

“The vision is to build a real and true foundation that can start with us, but that carry on for generations.”, said Ray Lewis, Founding Partner and Vice President, Power52.

Ray goes on to say, “Power52 will not only give people opportunities, but it will also educate people so that they can understand the importance of energy independence while cutting their utility bill.”

Although Power52 will have a national footprint, its initial focus will be the mid-Atlantic region with it’s initial focus in Baltimore City.

“Power52 was created to give HOPE back to the youth in our communities.  With the Baltimore Riots and the number of homicides in our communities, we realize that the impoverishment of the community stems from the lack of economic opportunity.  Power52 is here to create these opportunities through education and industry.”, said Power52 President/CEO, Rob Wallace.

Power52’s clean energy projects will be built by the community, for the community, and in the community where the power is being consumed.  The construction of the sites will allow for hands on training and long term employment where graduates will perform the ongoing Operation and Maintenance associated with the projects.  Power52 is committed to building a pool of talented, motivated individuals who are ready to change the dynamics of the world starting with their local communities.
